HISTORY

The Community Music School was founded in 1984 as a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization. Our original home was at Christ The King Lutheran Church. In 2004 we moved to The Church of The Good Shepherd for increased teaching space. Again, in 2006, we needed additional space and moved to our present location in the Pine Street Millyard. At this point, we have 12 teaching rooms and a small auditorium which holds 50 people. This location provides ample parking and is expected to meet our need for years to come.

We offer programs ranging from pre-school through adult instruction and are continually expanding areas of instruction. Currently we offer instruction in the areas of voice, strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion and piano. In addition to instruction, we provide performance opportunities by conducting ensembles and recitals to give our students experience in the performing arts.

OUR MISSION

At Nashua CMS we believe that learning and performing music is a valuable experience. It not only provides a different area of knowledge; it also instills discipline and learning techniques which can be used in other areas. Most importantly, it provides the satisfaction of performing music, which remains with us throughout our lives. It is our goal to provide the Nashua community with a broad spectrum of learning, performing and listening opportunities in music and to provide vocal and instrumental lessons with the finest teachers available.

1. Take Exit 5A toward Simon Street
2. Continue through stop sign onto Ledge Street for approx. 1 mile
3. Turn Left onto Pine Street.

1. Take Exit 5E to Kinsley Street and continue to Pine Street (traffic light).
2. Turn Left onto Pine Street.

From North Main Street in Nashua

1. Turn Right onto Water Street (Darrell's Music is on the corner of Main & Water St.)
2. Turn Right onto Factory Street. Follow .15 miles
3. Turn Right onto Central Street. Follow .2 miles
