PRIVATE LESSONS
The Nashua Community Music School recognizes that many families have busy schedules during the summer. In order to accommodate our families we offer the ability to sign up for a flexible number of lessons. Private lessons are given each week for the number of weeks chosen in the summer semester.
Students may select 30 minute, 45 minute or 60 minute lessons. Lesson dates and times are to be
coordinated between the student and teacher through the main office.
Lessons are offered on the following instruments: flute. clarinet, oboe, saxophone, trumpet, french horn, trombone, violin, viola,
guitar, piano and voice.
30 Minute Lesson $28.00 per lesson
45 Minute Lesson $34.00 per lesson
60 Minute Lesson $56.00 per lesson

FLUTE FESTIVAL
MONDAY - FRIDAY-JUNE 23-27 - 9:00AM-3:30PM
Spend a fun and challenging week at NCMS that will make a difference in your performance. Learn and play with other students who share your passion for the instrument. Each day includes warm-ups for mind flute and body, chamber ensemble and the chance to play with a pianist in a masterclass setting. Players are encouraged to bring a pice the are working on for a fresh point of view and the opportunity to improve their existing skills.
Teachers: Eileen Yarrison & Christina Kelsh
Requirements: A minimum of two years of playing experience is required. Students should be
proficient at note and rhythm reading.
Materials: Please bring your flute, a bag lunch, as well as a snack and a drink for each day.
Tuition: $325 ($300 if received before May 30th)

ELEMENTARY BAND FESTIVAL
MONDAY-THURSDAY - JULY 14-24 - 9:00AM-NOON
You had a blast all year don't let those skills go to waste. Join us for two fun weeks of band music. Students who attend will have fun playing band music with other students entering grades 5 and 6. Students planning to attend should have previous experience playing a band instrument such as flute oboe, clarinet, saxophone, French horn, trumpet, trombone, tuba or percussion.

PIANO FESTIVAL
MONDAY-FRIDAY - AUGUST 4-8 - 9:00AM-3:30PM
PMianists often practice and play alone - but not at our weeklong Piano Festival! Participants will have a chance to play in piano ensembles, experience African Drumming and Jazz improvisation. We will also learn how the Bach family partied. So parents save Aug 8 at 2:08pm for a special presentation.

REQIREMENTS: Ages 8-12 with a minimum of one year's playing experience.
REQUIREMENTS: Students should bring a snack, a bagged lunch and drink.

NEW! Aftercare - Students attending the piano festival can stay in a supervised setting at NCMS until 6PM for an additional $20 per day.

MUSIC COMPOSITION
THURSDAYS - JULY 10-31 - 7:00 - 8:30pm (Ages 12-Adult)
Is there a composer lurking in you? This class is geared to students who want to unleash their creativity through the art of composition. In this class we will learn about the creative (coming up with a melody and harmony) and technical aspects (music theory) of composition. All instrumentalists and vocalists are welcome.

Harmony Road® and The Music Class®
INTRODUCING HARMONY ROAD®
Tuesdays | July 7— August 8, 2008 | 4:30pm (Ages 4-6)
Are you interested in Harmony Road® for the fall but unsure? Want to find out if your preschooler
(age 4 - 6) is ready to begin music instruction? Harmony Road® offers a fun and educational
introduction to the piano and reading music. Students play piano and sing in a friendly group setting
that encourages them to embrace performing as a rewarding sharing experience.

HARMONY ROAD SUMMER FUN
This weekly 50 minute class is for students who took Harmony Road® or Young Musician during the
last school year. We will reinforce rhythm, solfege and note reading skills through new songs from the
Faber series of piano books.

MUSICAL PLAYDATE (Ages 0-5)

This is a 6 week, mixed age group class for newborns to kindergartners where parents and children sing and play together. We will use the Laurie Berkner CD, “Under a Shady Tree”, and traditional children’s songs to teach the children about the joys of music, rhythm and movement.
Teacher: Leigh Pelletier
Tuition: $11/class 1st child; additional $3/class 2nd child over 8 months.*
Materials: $15 for Laurie Berkner CD “Under a Shady Tree” (if you own this CD there is no need to purchase)
