Summer Private Music Lesson Blocks

Registration for Summer Lessons begin May 2nd.

Summer is the perfect time to try out a new instrument or pick back up an old one.  NCMS offers summer Lesson Blocks of 4, 6,  or 8 lessons which are customized to your summer schedule and our teacher availability. Students can chose each individual lesson time and date, you can even add private lesson blocks to any summer camp registration!  You can see the full details and pricing of our summer block lessons here.

 

Flute Academy

Camp Dates: July 6th-July 8th

Half Day Camp: 9am-1pm

Age: 11-16

Camp Director: Shari Shaw

Tuition: $140

Description: This three-day Flute Academy is geared toward the flutist looking to sharpen their skills through a series of group lessons, masterclasses and ensemble work.  Flutists are grouped according to their experience level and work together to prepare for a workshop performance on the last day of camp.  Flute Academy is the perfect compliment for students active in the school band or for independent flute students looking for a more collaborative experience.

Broadway Week!

Description: Broadway Week! (formerly Cabaret for Kids) is an exciting opportunity for students to delve into the world of musical theater by taking part in a custom show tailored specifically to fit each cast of campers.  An assortment of musical numbers and popular stories will be sewn together and presented as a musical theater revue in the final performance.  Broadway Week! is the perfect fit for the energetic singing actor in your family.

 

Intro to Piano & Percussion

Camp Dates: July 18th-July 22nd

Full Day/Half Day Camp:

9am-4pm or 9am-1pm

Age: 6-11

Tuition: $220 Full Day / $140 Half Day

Description: Intro to Piano & Percussion invites campers new to music the opportunity to explore the many facets of piano, note reading, rhythm and percussion.  This one-week session is the perfect fit for the curious camper looking to get a taste of what playing the piano is really all about.  Through a series of group classes, inspiring music games, and mini-individual lessons, this program will surely highlight the “fun” in the “fundamentals” of music. This camp is designed for campers who are relatively new to music.  

Music Around The World

Camp Dates: July 25th-July 29th

Half Day Camp: 9am-1pm

Ages: Campers 3.5-7

Junior Counselors: 7-12

Description: Music Around The World takes campers on a musical journey into multicultural drumming.  Each day campers explore the music, art and culture of a different country.  Campers have the chance to play authentic musical instruments and create fun art projects side-by-side with their junior counselor buddy.  Music Around The World is a great option for the curious, creative camper who loves to learn and collaborate with new friends on exciting musical adventures. No previous musical experience is necessary.

Summer Strings Week: Violin

Camp Dates: August 1st-August 5th

Half Day Camp: 9am-12:30pm

Age: 8-15

Camp Director: Corey Walden

Tuition: $160 per session

Description: Summer Strings Week: Violin is geared toward the violinist looking to sharpen and expand their skills through a series of group lessons, mini-individual coaching sessions, and ensemble playing.  Nontraditional techniques like fiddling and improvisation are highlighted each day as well. The week culminates in a performance featuring instructors and students side-by-side at the Greeley Park Outdoor Stage. We recommend that campers have a minimum 6 months of playing experience .

 

Summer Strings Week: Guitar & Ukulele

Camp Dates: August 1st-August 5th

Half Day Camp: 1pm-4:30pm

Age: 8-15

Camp Director: Mike Loce

Tuition: $160 per session

Description: Summer Strings Week: Guitar & Ukulele is perfect for the budding guitarist or ukulele player who is looking to jam with other young musicians.  Students make new friends while learning to collaborate on a series of popular songs while sharpening their own skills on their instrument. The week culminates in a performance featuring instructors and students side-by-side at the Greeley Park Outdoor Stage. We recommend that campers have a minimum of 6 months playing experience on guitar. No experience required on ukulele.

Young Composers

Camp Dates: August 8th-August 12th

Full Day or Half Day Camp

9am-4pm or 9am-1pm

Age: 9-13

Camp Director: Ray Aucoin

Tuition: $220 Full Day / $140 Half Day

Description: Campers from all musical backgrounds come together to learn the basics of music composition.  With the help of our talented instructors, campers will work together to create an original musical composition through a series of group workshops, daily private lessons and fun brainstorming games designed to get the creative juices flowing. The camp week culminates in a Composer Showcase in which the students have the option to share their work with family and friends. Young Composers (formerly Little Composers) is designed for campers with a love of music and an active imagination.
