    This drum circle jam introduces the fundamental rhythms, sounds, and drumming techniques found across the vast continent of Africa with authentic world instruments. Special advanced drum circles for adults are also available.

  • Music Therapy

    Express yourself, write lyrics, compose melodies, and play or sing your own original music in this therapeutic songwriting session. Our Board Certified Music Therapist will lead a series of songwriting interventions with the goal of improving emotional expression and regulation.

  • Recycled Percussion Obstacle Course

    Who says music isn’t athletic? Participants of all ages race through a series of physical and musical challenges that include basic drumming patterns.

    Listen, explore, and create art and music that sparks change in the world around you at Rise Up & Create. Learn from influential visual and musical artists who use their art to create social change.

  • Songwriting for Kids

    This workshop challenges students of any experience level to use their imagination to write their own music. Through a series of quick brainstorming exercises and musical games, students compose an original song based on a common theme.

  • Songwriting for the Soul

    This original music writing workshop and sharing session guides songwriters to find their voice and learn new composition techniques that make your music shine. Ideal for teens and adults who already play guitar, ukulele, or piano and are looking to connect with like-minded creative musicians in a positive brainstorming environment.

    Not sure what instrument is the right fit for you? The NCMS Instrument Petting Zoo gives curious musicians of all ages the chance to see, touch, and explore all of the instruments typically found in an orchestra.
