RECITAL FAQs

What are student recitals and who can participate?

Student recitals are performances held on the NCMS stage throughout the year for students to share

their progress! All NCMS private lesson students are eligible to participate, as long as your teacher

confirms that you are ready.

When do recitals happen?

In the 2026-2027 school year, you will have two opportunities to perform in recitals. Fall recitals will

be held in November 2026 and Spring recitals will be held in May 2027.

How do I know which recital time to sign up for?

Your teacher will receive an assigned time for all their students! You can find out that time by asking

your teacher, asking the main office, or checking your email for recital information. Please add

recitals@nashuacms.org to your contacts so you don’t miss anything!

What if I have a conflict with my assigned time/my assigned time is full?

Don’t worry, we will do our best to find a time that works for you! When you sign up, you will have the

option to request an alternate recital time or join the waitlist for a full recital. Once you submit that

request, our Recital Coordinator will contact you to confirm or discuss options. We can’t guarantee

anything, but last year we were able to accommodate everyone on recital waitlists after a few extra

days to move things around!

What information do I need to sign up?

In order to sign up, you need to know the title, composer, and length of the piece you are performing.

If your piece includes piano accompaniment, you or your teacher also need to provide sheet music in

the correct key for the pianist. Please confirm this information with your teacher BEFORE signups!

Can I perform more than one piece?

You are absolutely welcome to sign up to perform more than one piece! However, if your recital time

fills up and we need to make space for more performers, we may reach out and ask you to choose

just one, especially if they are long.

How do I make a change to my signup?

If you have already signed up and need to make a change, please email recitals@nashuacms.org!

Do recitals cost money?

Recitals are 100% FREE for performers and audience members. We do welcome donations to help

us continue making these events accessible to everyone.

How can I help out with recitals?

We are always looking for volunteers! Please email recitals@nashuacms.org to learn more.

NCMS recognizes that not everyone experiences sound and light the same way and that some people get overwhelmed by too much sound and/or light stimuli.
